Professional Note:
-
Since the proposal requires teachers to purchase the workbook in advance, the training serves as a live demonstration of the materials. To maximize engagement and ensure every teacher gains the practical skills—not just the content—needed to implement the Multisensory Reading System® (MRS) Workbook 1.1, participants must have the workbook in hand and have already reviewed its contents: they are expected to arrive ready to apply strategies and rules rather than simply discover them.
-
In addition to 15 days of intensive lecture, it requires an additional 100 hours of supervised practicum before a trainee can effectively teach basic concepts to a student with mild dyslexia in a one-to-one setting—even with guidance from a professional reading specialist. Consequently, we anticipate that teachers will require additional training, ongoing support, and consultation, all of which we offer to assist in the instruction of students with severe literacy challenges and co-occurring disabilities.
